I use this all the time. However, I need somehow to figure out a way to quantify whether submitting to these sites actually helps drive traffic. One would naturally assume it does, but I've got to do a study to try and determine more precisely the exact value.
Some might argue that it's a waste of time, and that pinging using a site like Pingomatic would suffice. Regardless, I still think it's a good practice to submit to the list.
